Environmental Managment Policy
SCA Cool Logistics operates from two adjacent sites in Leighton Buzzard. This policy provides us with the framework for setting our objectives and targets in respect of environmental management.
SCA Cool Logistics is committed to developing the business with progressively lower environmental impact.
We shall:
- Meet or exceed relevant environmental regulations and laws.
- Develop management processes and operational practices to prevent pollution.
- Continually improve levels of environmental protection and reduce waste throughout the organisation.
- Allow access to environmental performance information to all employees and any other responsible body having reasonable need for it.
- Increase knowledge and consciousness about environmental issues among all employees.
- Work with suppliers and customers to develop a similarly concerned approach to protection of the environment.
- Implement an Integrated approach to Environmental, Quality and Occupational Health and Safety issues.
- Provide appropriate resources to meet these commitments.
The Directors
Health and Safety Policy Statement
SCA Cool Logistics recognise that establishing and enforcing appropriate measures to control and monitor Health & Safety procedures is a vital part of running the business as an efficient and successful operation. To this end we will:
- Ensure that plant, equipment and working practices are safe and offer no risk to health
- Ensure that all necessary precautions are taken in respect of the safe use, handling, storage and transport of materials and substances.
- Provide such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure the health and safety at work of all employees.
- Maintain all places of work, equipment and transport under our control in a safe condition, free from risk to health.
- Provide adequate facilities for the welfare of employees
- Safeguard the health and safety of visitors and of any members of the general public who could be affected by our activities
- Provide all necessary information relating to health and safety in respect of processes, products
and services
- Review and update the policy as and when necessary particularly in respect of major changes
within the company and /or changes in legislation and to bring these changes to the attention of
all employees.
- Make a commitment to the continual improvement of both the system and the health and safety performance of the company.
- Comply with all current applicable legislation and other requirements from either trade associations or our parent organisation.
It is the duty of all Directors, Managers and Supervisors to ensure that safety and health factors are fully taken into account when designing equipment and operating procedures. Management are also responsible for ensuring that employees understand our Health and Safety policy and any Health and Safety rules relating to their jobs. Employees must also be adequately trained and made fully aware of any Health and Safety hazards in their areas of work.
Notwithstanding the above, all employees have a responsibility for their personal safety and a duty of care to their fellow employees.
